Competency Management System

Organizations competing in today's marketplace need to maintain a competitive edge if they want distinguish themselves from their competitors.

Employees must have the ability to quickly learn new skills, acquire new product information and adapt to changing business environments.

Competency Management is an integrated part of TeN™ iLMS. It provides the structure for developing employee and organizational developmental plans and the deployment of competency models and competency-gap analysis.

Competency Management System is useful not only to employers but also to recruitment companies. How?

Using CMS, the recruitment companies can build an individual's profile. This profile can then be used to filter the jobs openings. Another advantage of this e-profile or e-portfolio, or whatever you like to call, is that the employers can quote a minimum competency required while posting any opening and the system can, then, automatically filter the job-seekers.

What does it translate into? HR / Recruitment department of the company can sit at ease and do away with major task of filtering the resume. Resumes are in various kinds of format and style, making it very difficult for the HR person to filter them for an opening.

The recruiter can also see graphical mapping of the competencies required and available for the resumes.

In the next article we shall discuss about how this CMS can bring about what I call Resume-Unification.
